Kitplate 3D Studio

Terms of use

Last updated 7 October 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Kitplate when you use Kitplate 3D Studio (kitplate.com). By making an account or buying a plan you accept them.

Who we are

Kitplate 3D Studio is run by Kitplate. For help with your account, a plan or a payment write to support@kitplate.com; for anything else, to hello@kitplate.com.

The service

Kitplate 3D Studio is a set of browser tools that turn your ideas into files ready to 3D print. Designing and the 3D preview are free in every open tool, with no account. Downloading files, uploading pictures and fonts, and AI pictures need a free account, and count against your plan's limits, shown on the plans page, or against a Beta app's free downloads (below).

Your account

  • Use an email address you can read: we send the codes and links that keep your account yours to it.
  • One account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself.
  • We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service: scripts that download for you, accounts shared to get around the limits, or attacks on the site.

Plans and payments

  • The paid plans, Maker and Merchant, are subscriptions for every tool, paid monthly or yearly. Prices are in US dollars and include VAT.
  • Payments go through Stripe. Link, Stripe's company, sells the subscription to you on our behalf as the merchant of record: it charges you, works out and pays the tax, sends the receipts and handles payment questions. Its own terms apply to the payment, and you'll see them at checkout.
  • A subscription renews by itself at the end of each period until you cancel it. Cancel or switch plans any time under Billing in your account menu, or on link.com. A cancelled plan runs to the end of the period you paid for.
  • For a refund, contact Link's support or write to support@kitplate.com. Your rights as a consumer, including the EU right of withdrawal, are not limited by these terms.
  • If we change a price, it applies to new subscriptions at once, and to yours from your next period at the earliest, after we've told you by email at least 30 days before.

Beta apps

  • An app marked Beta is open to everyone but still being tested before its full release. It may change, and it may have bugs: check every model in your slicer before you print it.
  • While an app is in Beta, each account gets a number of free downloads a week in it, shown in the app and in your account menu. They count over the last 7 days, only in that app, and don't carry over to another week or another app. They don't cover batch export or AI pictures.
  • Once you've used them, downloads in that app count against your plan, as in any other app. What you may do with the files and your prints is the same as for your plan's downloads (see the licence).
  • The free downloads end when the app leaves Beta. We may change how many there are, or end them, at any time; files you already downloaded keep their licence.

Lifetime access from our campaigns

Backers of our crowdfunding campaigns get access to the apps their tier names, linked to their account on this site. Lifetime means for as long as Kitplate runs those apps, and at least 3 years from when your access is switched on. It includes their updates, belongs to one account and can't be passed on. If an app is replaced, its lifetime access moves to the replacement; if we close one, we'll tell you at least 12 months before.

Fair use

Where a plan says "unlimited", a fair-use cap applies, shown on the plans page, so that scripts and shared accounts can't take what is meant for one person.

What you make

  • You are responsible for what you put into a design: texts, pictures and fonts. Use only what you have the right to use, and nothing unlawful.
  • What you may do with your prints, and what you may never do with the files, is in the licence.
  • AI pictures are drawn by Google's Gemini from the words you type. Don't ask for real people's faces or other people's characters and logos.

What you may not do

  • Share, sell or upload the files our tools make (STL, 3MF), for free or not, on any site.
  • Download with scripts or bots, or get around the plans' limits.
  • Attack, overload or probe the site, or copy its tools.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the site running, but can't promise it never stops. We improve the tools all the time, and may change or retire features; lifetime access is covered above.

Liability

The files are made for 3D printing as the tools show them. Check a model in your slicer before you print it. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for failed prints, damage to printers or indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits a liability the law doesn't let us limit, or your rights as a consumer.

Ending

You can stop using the site any time. To delete your account, cancel any subscription first, then write to support@kitplate.com. We may end an account that breaks these terms.

Law and changes

These terms are under Polish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection the law of your country gives you. We may update these terms: the date above shows the last change, and we'll email account holders before an important change applies.
